Frequently asked questions

Can't find what you're looking for? Email us — we read every message.

How do I change my password?+

Go to Settings and click on your profile — you'll find a password update option there. If you signed up with Google, your password is managed through your Google account.

Can I add another child?+

Yes! You can add as many children as you need.

  • Individual plan — covers 1 child
  • Family plan — covers unlimited children

To add a child, go to the Children section in the sidebar and click Add child. If you're on the Individual plan, you'll be prompted to upgrade to Family.

Can I downgrade my account back to one child?+

Yes. Go to Settings and click Manage billing to switch plans.

If you downgrade from Family to Individual, all your children's records stay safe until the end of your billing period. After that, only one child profile will be active. If you need help, email us at hello@edulog.co.uk.

Tips for getting a detailed report+

The more you log, the richer your report. Here's what makes the biggest difference:

  • Add a short description to each lesson — even one sentence helps
  • Tag each lesson with the right subject
  • Upload photos or files as evidence — these appear in the report automatically
  • Log regularly rather than in one big batch at the end of term

The AI report works best when there are at least a few weeks of consistent logs to draw from.

Tips for getting a detailed planner+

When generating an AI plan, be specific about your goals for the week. Instead of just picking subjects, add an objective — for example:

  • “Introduce long division”
  • “Continue the WW2 project”
  • “Start persuasive writing”

The more context you give, the more tailored the plan. You can also edit any generated plan after it's created — treat the AI output as a starting point, not a finished document.

How do I upload images and files?+

Open any lesson log and look for the attachment section. You can:

  • Drag and drop files directly
  • Click to browse and select from your device

Photos, PDFs, and most common document types are supported. Uploaded files appear in your child's portfolio and in exported reports.

Can my child upload their own work?+

Not yet — Edulog is currently managed by parents. A child-facing view is on the roadmap. If this is important to you, let us know at hello@edulog.co.uk — it helps us prioritise.

How do I edit the planner?+

Open any week's plan from the Planner section and click on any topic or lesson to edit it. You can:

  • Change the title, description, subject, and duration
  • Add new topics to an existing plan
  • Remove topics you didn't get to

Changes save automatically as you go.

How many subjects can I add?+

There's no limit. Common subjects like Maths, English, and Science are pre-populated, but you can add any custom subject to match your curriculum.

Go to your child's profile to manage their subject list.

How do I log projects instead of topics?+

Use the lesson log as normal and give the entry a project-style title — for example, “Volcano project — Day 1”. You can then:

  • Group related entries by subject
  • Add photos and files as the project progresses
  • See everything together in the portfolio view and report

A dedicated project mode is planned. Email us at hello@edulog.co.uk if you'd like to share how you work.
